Silence of the Drinking Glass

I am the glass without voice
other than the one you give me.
Through me, light streams and cast dancing colors;
they fascinate and make you smile.
There is endless wonder to be told
when you chance a look at the light I cast.

I am the glass without voice
other than the one you give me.
Shadows cast by the invading light,
they hide behind me and cower.
There is only gloom to be had
when your sullen gaze reach me.

I am the glass without voice
until you share yours with me.
I am filled with pristine water,
half-full and half-empty;
I am neither and I am both.
I hold but one truth with me.

I am with you as you are with me.
